This week's book haul
Blue by Lisa Glass: Won this through Goodreads First Reads, already read and reviewed! Surfing just isn't my thing, it seems.
PURCHASED
PHYSICAL COPIES
I Don't Want to be Crazy by Samantha Schutz: Verse memoir of the author's college years and beyond as she suffers from worsening anxiety. Bought this for Mental Health Awareness Month. WHICH IS NOW THIS MONTH! o:
DIGITAL COPIES
I went a little wild and bought like three books on Kindle in about ten minutes last Sunday night when I got wayyyy too bored of writing my essay.
The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan: Gargoyles! Its sequel, The Lovely and the Lost, came out in May, so after seeing rave reviews for the sequel I decided that the first book would be a safe buy. Here's to hoping I like it.
The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski: Hype hype hype hypity hype. Yeah. I caved and bought this. It was only £1.99 on Kindle, who am I to resist?
Crazy by Amy Reed: Bought this one for Mental Health Awareness Month. This is epistolary (well, not letters but e-mails), and it's about a girl with bipolar disorder. I read the first couple of e-mails and I'm in love with the voice already. I love the cover as well! All of Amy Reed's book covers are so nice.
That's it from me this week! I've gained lots of new followers this week, and I'd love to get to know you guys better. If you wanna have a chat, just leave a comment: tell me a little bit about yourself, about your week, what you've been reading, your book hauls, and anything else you wanna talk about. (:
Feel free to link me to your book hauls/weekly recaps!
TWC is amazing, I hope you're going to enjoy it as much as I did! :) Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteNice book haul, have a great reading week !
ReplyDeleteThe little Jellyfish is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great haul this week! Enjoy all your new reads.
Have a great week Cynthia!!!
Oh I wish The Winner's Curse was one sale for US. It's $8.99 here for kindle. :( I love your blog title and your knitted jellyfish! So cute!

I have The Winner's Curse on my shelf, I still haven't read it though. Hopefully soon. Enjoy all the new books.

Another Armchair BEA blogger. You guys are making me crazy that I didn't get to participate! I hope you enjoy all your new goodies!
ReplyDeleteI NOTICED your favicon and I LOVE him! <3 And you got The Winner's Curse!! I'm kiiinda curious of that one too ;)
ReplyDeleteThat Gargoyle on the cover is creepy... though I do like paranormal romance....
Thanks! Glad to hear you liked TWC and I hope I'll like it too! (: Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Have a great week too!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like the little jellyfish. (:
ReplyDeleteHave a great week too!
I just noticed the low price while I was browsing around on Amazon; the price has gone up a bit again already, though it's still not that high. Prices just seem to go down randomly, I wish I had a better way of keeping tabs on what books are suddenly on sale!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like my blog title and the jellyfish! I didn't make them, so if you're ever interested in getting your own, do check out this Etsy shop!
Hope you get round to reading TWC soon and that it lives up to the hype for you! (:
ReplyDeleteThanks! Armchair BEA was fun but very time-consuming. I've been super busy this week and I still haven't really managed to find the time to visit many other blogs. Maybe next week I will try and go back to visit more blogs though...
ReplyDeleteYay I'm glad you love my favicon! He's very happy that you love him. (:
ReplyDeleteI will report back eventually on whether TWC lives up to the hype for me. :D (But probably not for ages since I already have way too much to read this month.)
Mmm, I think this UK cover of The Beautiful and the Cursed really captures the book much better than the US cover does. I mean, CREEPY GARGOYLES. THAT'S ACTUALLY THE BOOK. (Not that I've read it, but I've read the blurb... The US cover tells you nothing. It's just some vague sploshes of colour on some faded picture of a fainting(?) girl. I would not have ever been interested in the book if I'd only seen the US cover.) Seems like a fun and original series. I'll nudge you to read it if I end up liking it. :D
Yeah, I don't tend to read much MG either... Well, if you do end up reading The Memory Cage, I'd be very interested to hear what you think of it. :D
ReplyDeleteOooh, no, I haven't read If I Stay. Added it to my TBR! I've always heard people talk about these books but I've never really considered reading them myself, but now I have more of a reason to. Thanks for telling me about them! :D
Yep, I'm looking forward to everyone's posts so much! (:
The Winner's Curse is crazy cheap, isn't it?!! I love that! Oooh, and your favicon is adorable. GOSH. I want to do one of those sometime, buuut...just need to sit down and figure it out. x) *whispers* I gave The Geography of You and Me 3 stars too. Glad I'm not the only one. I felt soooo guilty for not liking it, because it seems a lot of people do!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by @ Notebook Sisters!
:D What would your favicon look like, do you think?
ReplyDeleteYeah, The Geography of You and Me was meh. I liked the writing style a surprising amount, but god, WILL THESE TEENAGERS EVER LEARN TO COMMUNICATE. HOW CAN TWO PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO LIKE EACH OTHER BE SO TERRIBLE AT KEEPING IN TOUCH. They suck.
I wonder why I haven't heard about The Winner's Curse before. Sounds like a good read! Great haul this week. :) Thanks for stopping by my post!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading The Winner's Curse and really enjoying it so far, although I am not that far into it. I love the favicon, really want to make one but have no idea where or how to start!
ReplyDeleteyour fav icon is really cute! *_*
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to get a copy of The Winner's Curse too because the cover looks so pretty!!
Have a great week!
my sunday post: http://wp.me/p3v5T1-rt
Your favicon is so cute! I'm still so behind at getting back to comments from ArmchairBEA but I hope you had a good time last week ;)
ReplyDeleteIt came out maybe a couple months ago in the US and there was a lot of hype surrounding its release. I think I started blogging around that time so I really noticed it. (: Hope you like it if you decide to pick it up.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're enjoying TWC so far! What would you want your favicon to look like? I'd be glad to help if I can!
ReplyDeleteThanks! (:
ReplyDeleteYeah, the cover of TWC is super pretty! I can't deny that's half the reason why I'm so interested in that book. (: Hope you're having a great week too.
Thanks, glad you like the favicon! Yeah, I feel so behind! I feel really guilty that I really haven't had that much time to check out more of other people's blogs as well, but I did have a great time.
